Awareness Day
October 10th 2009, at Prévessin-Moens Ecole de la Bretonniere there will be an Awareness Day for the public. From 14h00 – 17h00 there will be free entry and a number of animations including a visit to the school at 14h30 and a “scenette interactive” about climate change at 16h00. Held by Helianthe

Meeting in Ferney about eco-districts
On Thursday 8th October, at the Salle du Levant, 20h30, there will be a presentation on the project from the Mairie about “eco-quartiers”. I will be there. If you live in Ferney and care about the environment I hope to see you there.

My Composter
Even though we have a small garden, we have found space in it for a composter, into which we put all uncooked vegetable scraps, and, being English, used tea bags. So far, the insects seem to like it inside the composter, but it doesn’t make a nuisance, even though I sit in the garden only [...]

Today, 100w light bulbs are banned
In the start of a rolling phase-out, 100w light bulbs are banned in the EU from today. By 2012, only low-energy light bulbs will be available for sale in the EU. If you haven’t tried them yet, they are a lot better than they used to be, and last for years!
